Saddleback Valley Unified School District Agrees to Skip the Plastic Straw!

At the beginning of August, I contacted the director of food services of Saddleback Valley Unified School District (USD), Riki Pollard, asking if it would be possible for their district to remove plastic straws from the meals in their school cafeterias. I recently received good news that they have decided to join the Skip the Plastic Straw campaign and will remove plastic straws altogether from their school district. That means a total of 34 schools (24 elementary schools, 4 intermediate schools, 4 high schools, and 2 alternative schools)!

Here is a quote by Riki Pollard, director of food services of Saddleback Valley USD: "Saddleback Valley USD is happy to be a supporter of the "Skip the Plastic Straw" campaign and ultimately committing to making a small change that will benefit our environment and marine life".

Thank you Saddleback Valley for Skipping the Plastic Straw with me!
