Garden Grove Unified School District Joins Skip the Plastic Straw!

I am happy to share the good news that Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) in Orange County has joined my campaign to remove plastic straws from all their cafeterias in 72 schools!

I first reached out to Mrs. Agnes Lally, the Nutrition Director of Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) in Orange County, in January 2019. I was delighted to hear that she was open to the idea and wanted to look into this change. She also requested for copies of my posters and wanted to join my campaign after they have used up all the inventory in their warehouse. Recently, when I followed up with Mrs. Lally, I was so happy to hear from her that she has made the change and GGUSD is now free of single-use plastic straws at all 72 campuses and is joining my campaign as a plastic straw-free partner of Skip the Plastic Straw. Way to go! We hope to look into having Skip the Plastic Straw posters up at her schools when kids return to in-person school.
